Team MembersDebra Danburg Associate Debra Danburg, a native of Houston, TX, brings professional experience from the public and private sector to the firm. On the Dean’s List at the University of Houston, she received her B.A. in Sociology, and soon afterward attended the J.D. Bates College of Law at the University of Houston as well. In 1974, Debra was the Assistant Director of the Texans for Equal Rights Amendment (lobbying coalition), in Austin, Texas and statewide, while also being a Women's Advocate at the University of Houston. She served as a State Representative to District 137(formerly District 79) from 1981 until 2003. Before representing District 79, Debra was an Administrative Aide to State Representative Ron Waters and the district. She also served on various committees: House Committee on Elections (Chair), State Affairs, Calendars, Appropriations, Business and Industry, Criminal Jurisprudence, Cultural & Historical Resources (Vice-Chair), Environmental Affairs (Vice-Chair), and Rules and Resolutions, to name a few. Additionally, Debra fulfilled the duties of Select Committees and Speaker Appointments: She has been awarded in abundance throughout the community, from Outstanding Service Award, Houston Association of Retired Teachers in 1989, to Presidential Recognition Award, and the Texas Association Against Sexual Assault in 1998, amongst various other awards. In addition, in 1992, Debra won the Outstanding Legislator Award by Texas Association of Symphony Orchestras as well as the Mayoral Appointment by City of Houston's Municipal Arts Commission. Currently, Debra is serving as an Associate to Hoskins and Associates LLC, while active in her own practice, Law Office of Debra Danburg. |
