Team MembersMitchell J. Howie Associate Mitchell J. Howie brings professional experience from politics, law, and the military, where he served as Captain in the United States Air Force and as a military attorney in the Judge Advocate General Corps. He entered the Air Force through the Direct Appointment Program in May of 2005, and began active duty in July of 2005. Captain Howie is a native of Galveston, Texas. Mitchell received his undergraduate degree from The University of Texas at Austin, with a concentration in psychology and studied law at The University of Houston. He has been a member of the Texas Bar since 2004 and the College of the State Bar of Texas. Prior to his military active duty, Mitchell served as Chief of Staff to a Representative at the Texas State Capitol in Austin. He recently re-opened his law practice: The Law Office of Mitchell J. Howie. As an attorney in private practice, he excelled at serving clients throughout Austin, Houston and Galveston, Texas, with effective and efficient legal representation in various civil and criminal matters, to include a few: personal injury law, premises liability litigation, criminal defense, driving under the influence (DUI) litigation, debt collection, construction law, contract law and family law. Additionally, as a government attorney, Captain Howie's military career took him all over the United States. He began serving the country as a military attorney at Davis Monthan Air Force Base in Tucson, Arizona. He was later stationed at Pope Air Force Base in Fayetteville, North Carolina. Captain Howie deployed to Joint Task Force Civil Support (JTF-CS) for legal support of domestic operations related to the "global war on terrorism." He has also served as Special Assistant to the US Attorney within the Department of Justice. In this position as the sole federal prosecutor, he personally prosecuted over 300 federal cases ranging from a wide array of criminal offenses, to name a few: minor traffic offenses; larceny offenses, theft offenses; drug offenses; domestic violence offenses; Driving Under Influence litigation (DUI), Driving While Impaired litigation; Child Neglect litigation and Child Abuse litigation. Currently, Mitchell is serving as General Counsel to Hoskins and Associates LLC. The Law Office of Mitchell J. Howie is accepting clients as a Texas attorney.
