Team MembersRory Hoskins Managing Director, Illinois Rory Hoskins has developed extensive networks in state and local government throughout Illinois. In 2007, he became the first African-American elected to public office in the Village of Forest Park (Cook County), where he serves as Commissioner of Accounts and Finance and Vice-President of the Village Council. Hoskins represents Forest Park on the West Central Municipal Conference’s Legislative Committee, and is an active member in the Illinois Municipal League. Prior to assuming elective office, Hoskins spent six years working for the Illinois Department of Commerce and Economic Opportunity (DCEO). At DCEO, he worked closely with the agency’s Director to attract business investment, including corporate headquarters, to Illinois through negotiations for economic development incentives. This experience led to a three year stint at KPMG, working in the firm’s Global Location and Expansion Services (GLES). At KPMG, Hoskins was a consultant to the State and Local Tax practice and advised clients on site selection, incentives negotiation, credit review, and economic development consulting. Hoskins maintains a strong network of economic development professionals spanning the country. In 2008, officials from the Minnesota Department of Revenue invited him to serve the tax credits and incentives subject matter expert to the State of Minnesota’s “Governor’s 21st Century Commission on Tax Reform”. In addition to serving in local government, Rory serves as President of the Proviso Township Democratic Organization (PTDO). He has ties to members of the Illinois Congressional Delegation and to members of the Illinois Legislature. Hoskins graduated from the University of Texas at Austin with a B.A. in Government. In 1999, he received his Master of Social Work from Loyola University Chicago where he currently studies Law. |
