Veronica S. Ballard

Associate

Veronica brings her professional experience from the public and private sector to the firm. She is a native of New Orleans, Louisiana. She attended Louisiana State University in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, where she received Bachelors and Masters Degrees in Criminal Justice. She began her criminal justice career in New Orleans, Louisiana as a Sheriff’s Deputy and later became a Probation and Parole Agent in that state. She spent seventeen years as an employee of the Texas Department of Criminal Justice – Parole Division where she rose through the ranks to eventually become the Director of that agency. She administered the probation department in the largest unified court system in the world as the Director and Chief of the Cook County Adult Probation Department in Chicago, Illinois. After spending 28 years as a public servant, Ms. Ballard worked as the National Director of Government Affairs for a Healthcare Services Management Company.

Ms. Ballard has received and conducted countless hours of training in public relations, management, leadership, conflict resolution, cultural diversity, and communication. Her professional accomplishments include published articles in such periodicals as Justice Quarterly and Journal of Criminal Justice. She has been recognized and received awards from Delta Sigma Theta Sorority Public Service, Texas Government, and the National Forum for Black Public Administrators, as well as other organizations. Some of her professional memberships include the American Correctional Association, American Probation and Parole Association, International Corrections and Prisons Association, National Association of Probation Executives. She is active in her church and as been a dedicated community volunteer for more than 30 years.
